We are a group of friends and family inspired by the courageous story of someone who left us too soon. Silvana Bozzo was a mother to us all. She lived a healthy and active life, yet was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer on April 23, 2008. Despite her optimism and courageous efforts, she sadly passed away on May 11, 2009 - a year later.
We miss her and we are committed to keeping her memory alive through the work of The Silstar Foundation.
Lung cancer is not just a smokers’ disease – we know first-hand that it can affect anyone. It is the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women. We are committed to raising awareness, and research into new treatments for those that are affected by the disease.
Silvana was truly an amazing human being in every way possible – graceful, loving, classy, and welcoming. There was nothing she wouldn’t do to help her friends and family.
We miss her, and we are committed to keeping her memory alive through the work of the Silstar Foundation. Together with your outstanding generosity, we have raised over $516,000!
These funds are in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation – Dr. Natasha Leighl Lung Cancer Research Fund, and specifically applied towards early detection, targeted treatment and patient care.
